The opening service for this year of Queen Valley Lutheran Chapel is in the history books. We had a nice group at church today…..I’m guessing at around 30, but I am terrible at estimating these things. I never have counted the number in attendance because frankly, it doesn’t matter to me at all. I’ve preached to 600, I have preached to 6…..no difference in importance for me.
God has given me another opportunity to serve Him in His Church: After assisting Risen Savior in Chandler and Christ in Coolidge put together a pastor sharing agreement, it turns our that Risen Savior needs a Liturgist for the 0800 Divine Service, as well as a Pastor to provide pastoral care….and both have been offered to me. To say I am honored and still in awe would be a huge understatement. The liturgical space at Risen Savior is the most beautiful in the State of Arizona, and to be invited to preside in this space is like the greatest thing this Liturgical Pastor that is possible. Thanks be to God that the folks in Queen Valley understand and granted my request to change their Divine Service time to 1000.
This means that I will have around 60 minutes to make the 53 minute drive from Risen Savior to Queen Valley each Sunday. It shouldn’t be a problem until the Renaissance Fair starts in February….and I will pray for rapid passage in their air space as I navigate my Acura past their entrance and exit. Your weekly prayers will be appreciated and welcome.
So, now it is time to listen to WTMJ radio broadcast of the Packers vs. Chiefs game, as our market gets the Cardinals vs. 49ers game on TV.
Blessings on your Sunday.
